Patio Furniture Cushions

Rimlee Bhuyan
If you have patio furniture, then you would need cushions for both comfort and style. Here, we are going to discuss different designs available for the same.
Whatever the type of patio furniture you might have, you need some great cushions to complete the look. Such furniture is most often made of wicker or wrought iron, and it also needs to be dressed up and made more comfortable.
Imagine curling up on a wicker chair without any cushions on it. Doesn't sound too comfortable, right? So, you need the right varieties not only to make it look more appealing but also to sit comfortably. These are available in a lot of designs, and are made with different types of fabrics.

For Outdoor Furniture

The kind of patio furniture you have, determines the type of cushions you'll need. For such furniture covers, choose fabrics that are sun resistant and durable, as they'll remain outdoors. Flimsy and delicate fabrics like silk, tulle and satin don't work well in such cases, as the color fades over time. Humidity and rain can also destroy them.
So, the best fabrics available are linen, cotton, acrylic, teflon, polyester blends, and awning fabrics. These are a great choice because they are not only durable but also easy to clean.
You can also apply a coating of Scotchgard on the cushion covers so that they are resistant to sun and rain. This will greatly increase their life and keep the fabric from rotting.

For Wrought Iron Furniture

Since these furniture pieces will be extremely uncomfortable to seat on without cushions, you need the latter to be firm and soft. You need at least two to three inches thick foam inside them so that they are comfortable to sit on.
Shop around for good ones at furniture stores, and you are bound to find something that suits your fancy. If you are looking for the cheap ones that are one of a kind, then why not make them yourself?
If you want to know how to go about making one, it is very easy; all you need are the right materials and fabrics. The best thing about designing these on your own is that you can incorporate your own designs and styles. You can create beautiful and colorful patterns with stencils, and by spray painting.
Since patio furniture does not have to match the interior of the house, one of the best ways to imbibe the spirit of nature is to opt for floral motifs, nautical, and tropical prints in their covers.

For Wicker Furniture

If you have this variety, then the best cushions to go with it will be overstuffed white ones. They look great against the natural texture and beige color of wicker, giving it a relaxing and tranquil atmosphere.
To complete the look and inject it with a pop of color, pair them with teal blue and chocolate-colored ones. You can also try sea green, electric blue, or orange varieties. Choose solid colors if you are uncertain about which patterns to get in cushions. You can also try different shapes available in them like square, rectangular, etc. for a unique look.
Always remember that your cushions need regular cleaning to keep them in the best condition. They are available in several designs, and you need to select the right one that is suitable for your home.
