Installing artificial grass is a great way of water conservation. It looks as good as natural grass and is easy to maintain too.
With the global concern of water conservation, many are now replacing their existing real grass with the new durable artificial grass.
The biggest advantage of installing artificial grass or turf, is that it does not need constant watering, weeding, and patch working the bald spots on the grass. Yes, it is surely a skill to install artificial grass but with the proper knowledge it can be done easily.

Preparation

Remove the existing real grass (if any) and clearing the ground. You can use a sod cutter for the purpose of removing the older grass. You will also have to remove the debris and the caps of the existing sprinkler system.
Assess and measure the exact area on which you are going to install artificial grass. You can use a steel measuring tape for the purpose. Make an estimate of the grass that is needed. You can easily get the turf of your choice in any hardware store nearby.
Along with the synthetic grass, you will need a steel tape, crushed granite, carpet knife, seam tape, artificial grass adhesive and notched adhesive spreader.

Installation Instructions

✦ Unroll the artificial grass and make it straight. Mark the area where the other lengths will be placed. Also check for the correct breadth. Repeat this with the second roll and set it next to the first one. Use a carpet knife to cut the seams between the two rolls.
✦ You will have to glue the seams of the rolls with seam tape and adhesive. Make sure that the gap between lengths of two rolls in not more than 4mm. Now, invert the edges of both the rolls. By doing this, about 60cm to 75cm of the ground must get visible.
✦ The key here is to apply the exact amount of the adhesive. Apply it on the seam tape and not on the first two lengths of the grass. Spread the glue by using the notched adhesive spreader.
✦ Press hard at the back of the artificial grass carefully onto the spread out adhesive. Once you place the artificial grass, check for the seams and ensure that they are stuck well. If not, use some more adhesive to glue them down.
✦ Cut the grass into the desired shape and clean off all the remnants.
Make sure the base on which you will put the artificial grass is leveled. If not, then you can use crushed granite, sand or gravel and make sure that the base is firm and leveled.
